Have You Been Arrested, Threatened or Charged With a Crime?
Most people believe that they will never need the services of a Pensacola criminal attorney, as they intend not to commit any crimes. However, over the last two decades, there has been a steady increase in the number of crimes that may be charged both on the state and federal levels. Along with these increases in possible criminal violations, the agencies that enforce these said laws have likewise increased their abilities to gather information in the prosecution of individuals.
Attorney Ed Ellis began his legal career as a prosecutor but moved onto developing a private practice representing those charged with crimes, as well as establishing a civil trial practice. To talk with an attorney about your case, please fill out our case evaluation form to the right.
Over the last decade he has continued to represent those accused of criminal conduct. He has handled cases for clients involving:
Ed has handled several complex criminal cases, both in State and Federal Court. In Federal Court, he handled the representation of a client in a $90 million ponzi conspiracy scheme with charges of wire and securities fraud; the largest monetary case prosecuted in the Northern District of Florida. The trial lasted six weeks and consisted of over 250,000 documents used by the prosecution.
Ed also represented the first doctor in the United States charged with RICO and criminally causing the death of patients by over-prescribing Oxycontin. He has many years of experience defending the rights of clients accused of misdemeanor and felony charges in both State and Federal Courts. Ed has been quoted in various newspapers over the years, as well as the National Journal (April 6, 2002 issue).
